• We can help high-risk youth achieve positive behaviors, improve life style and decision making skills by engaging high-risk youth in a healthy mentor relationship.
• That engaging and developing the leadership skills of community members who share similar backgrounds and have faced similar challenges as the youth they serve, is one of the most effective ways to create adult role-models and leaders who will have a positive impact on the youth and their community.
• High-risk youth and adults require an investment that goes beyond mentoring. The investment includes: life skill development, career development, educational pathways, connectedness to constructive peers, and self reflection.
• To make profound changes in the lives of young people and to re-engage adults it is necessary to connect with the families, communities, schools, and employers.
• In placing value in youth and adult engagement by granting both groups a voice and ownership over their programs and activities.
